That’s all there is to it

Fitting insulation panels

First of all, the base profile is secured at right angles to the wall. The Special Adhesive Mortar is then applied to the reverse side of the insulation panels using the ‘dot-bead method‘.

The panels are then placed pressed firmly while ‘floating’.

After the adhesive mortar has dried – after a minimum of 24 hours (depending on weather conditions!) – the insulation panels are doweled, according to the dowel plan (generally with 5 - 6 plate dowels per m²). (Fig. 1 - 4)

Using facing clinkers

The Special Adhesive Mortar is then applied as a contact layer to the insulation panels.

By using the appropriate notched trowel, you can produce an comb-like bed using the mortar.

A thin layer of adhesive mortar is then applied using the appropriate bricklayer’s trowel to the reverse side of the facing clinkers.

The clinkers are then applied to the adhesive mortar bed as a masonry bond (floating-buttering method). Any excess adhesive mortar should be removed with the pointing trowel while still damp. (Fig. 5 - 7)

Using corner clinkers and jointing

Corner clinkers are applied in the same way as standard facing clinkers. (Fig. 8)

Once the adhesive mortar has fully dried out, you can get on with jointing. This involves stirring and applying the Special Joint Mortar to the entire joint cross section using the joint iron according to the instructions. (Fig. 9)
